Full Body Reconstruction

Our Team is specialist in full body cosmetic surgery:

At our Cosmetic Surgery Center we offer the most up to date information and technology, as well as clinical excellence in full Body Reconstructive Surgery.

Reconstructive Cosmetic Surgery is not for the timid particularly when it is performed on a post-bariatric surgery patient.

We prefer a total evaluation and disclosure of time required, staged recuperation, multidisciplinary approach as well as time required to attain the patient goals.

As a rule of thumbs, for each 100 pounds of weigh loss there is two weeks of recovery needed after extensive TBM, (total body make-up).

For each 50 pound of weigh loss we calculate a new are of reconstruction. So, for 200 pound of weigh loss on a person over 40 years of age, you will need abdomen, breast, face and legs to be worked upon. A 300pounds of weigh loss required additional adjustment of neck, arms, etc.

an example of a patient with over 380 pounds of WL is shown here. Each case if different and recovery and post-op can not be foreseen

Patient Instructions
Our Surgical Team would like you to have a most successful surgery.  Your Pre-op preparation is as important as the surgical procedure for a happy surgery.Your post-op care is essential for achieving the best results possible.  We do not recommend and at times would nor perform a procedure on prospective patients who are smokers or drug users.
Post-Operative Instructions for Abdominoplasties
Your post-op discomfort varies greatly depending on the surgical trauma and the threshold of pain by the patient. Generally, the cleaner the surgery, the lower the pain and vice versa. You will find that your abdomen is bruised and swollen. You will be up and about as the day of your surgery but should avoid strenuous activity for 4 weeks. However, if your work does not involve any major physical activity, you will be able to return to work within 2 weeks. Following the surgery, it is recommended that you rest for one week. keep drains for 2-4 days.
During the week immediately following the surgery, you will wear an abdominal binder or garment. This should be worn for anywhere between one and four weeks to help your body adjust to its new changes. To speed up the recovery process, it is recommended that you follow these steps during the first week following your abdominoplasty:
  • You have the option to use a hospital type bed following surgery. We have found that in our hands, with good surgical team, this is not necessary except in a few cases.
  • It is very important to wash and clean your incisions in the shower DAILY.
  • Avoid any physical activity that could stretch your abdomen such as exercise, bending over, or strain as this can result in unnecessary swelling or bleeding.
Although you will be able to return to your regular social activities within two weeks following the surgery, it is recommended that you limit physical exercise. It is also advised that you wear a good support garment to support your cosmetically reconfigured abdomen for four to six weeks. By following this instruction, you will ensure that your abdominoplasty will result in the best cosmetic appearance possible.

Post-Operative Instructions for Drains
Drains are devices often used postoperatively to evacuate the fluid that accumulates after surgical procedures and enable you to heal faster. When the drain is first put in place, the bulb at the end of the tube will be compressed to create gentle suction. As the fluid collects in the bulb, it will expand.
We secure the drain to the skin with removable sutures. The bulb and the drain can be secured and hidden in your pocket. We keep our patients for a minimum of 3-4 days at the Hospital or at the adjacent Hotel. Your nurse will empty the bulb and will give you detail instruction of how to do it in her absence. Our patients leave the Medical Complex without the drain.
If the drains come out unexpectedly, they cannot be replaced.
